Sarah's Dog Training

Terms & Conditions

By booking any service with Sarah’s Dog Training, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to the following Terms and Conditions. A contract is formed upon completion of the booking process.

General – Group Classes & 1-2-1 Training

  • All dogs must remain on lead at all times unless otherwise instructed.

  • A minimum distance of 6 feet must be maintained between dogs unless otherwise agreed. Please be mindful that some dogs require space.

  • Muzzles are welcome where appropriate. It is the owner’s responsibility to ensure the muzzle is well-fitted and allows adequate panting.

  • The use of full-choke chains, prong collars, shock collars or anti-bark devices is strongly discouraged. Their use in sessions is at the sole discretion of Sarah Stonehouse. You may be asked to remove such equipment or leave the session if necessary.

  • Dogs must be fit and healthy to attend sessions. If your dog is unwell, please do not attend.

  • If your dog is unvaccinated or partially vaccinated, you accept full responsibility for any associated risks.

  • Bitches in season may be permitted at our discretion - please contact us prior to attending.

  • You are responsible for your dog’s behaviour at all times, including cleaning up after them and following all instructions given during sessions.

  • Any aggressive or concerning behaviour must be disclosed prior to attending.

  • Sarah’s Dog Training reserves the right to refuse entry or remove any dog or handler from a session where safety, welfare or disruption is a concern. No refunds will be issued in such cases.

  • Classes may be shortened or rescheduled due to weather or safety concerns.
     

Liability

  • You are responsible for any damage, injury or loss caused by your dog.

  • Sarah’s Dog Training accepts no liability for any injury, loss or damage to persons, animals or property, except where caused by proven negligence.

  • You are responsible for any veterinary costs incurred by your dog.

  • Attendance is at your own risk. You are responsible for your own safety and that of anyone accompanying you.

  • We are not responsible for any loss, damage or theft from vehicles or personal property.

  • While we hold Public Liability Insurance, it is strongly recommended that your dog is insured. We reserve the right to refuse services to uninsured dogs.
     

Children

  • All children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.

  • Children must be supervised and are not permitted to handle dogs during sessions for safety and insurance reasons.
     

Trainer Availability

  • If Sarah is unable to carry out a session due to illness or unforeseen circumstances, sessions will be rescheduled at no additional cost.
     

Training Approach & Outcomes

  • Training and behaviour modification outcomes vary between dogs and households. Results are dependent on consistency, handling, environment and the individual dog.

  • No guarantees are made regarding outcomes or timescales.

  • By engaging in training, you agree to follow guidance and instructions given to ensure safety and progress.
     

Group Classes – Payments & Cancellations

  • Full payment is required upfront to secure your space.

  • Unused sessions after a 6 month period will be forfeited.

  • A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required to reschedule a class.

  • Failure to attend without 48 hours’ notice will result in the session being forfeited. No refunds will be given.
     

1-2-1 Training & Behaviour Services – Payments & Cancellations

  • All services must be paid in full upfront or via an agreed payment plan.

  • By entering a payment plan, you agree to complete all payments until the full balance has been received.

  • Sessions may be rescheduled with a minimum of 48 hours’ notice.

  • Cancellations within 48 hours will result in the session being forfeited.

  • All services must be used within the timeframe specified at the time of booking. Any unused sessions will be forfeited.

  • No refunds will be given for partially used services or changes in personal circumstances.
     

Cooling-Off Period

  • In line with UK consumer law, a 14-day cooling-off period applies to online bookings.

  • If you cancel within this period and have not used the service, a refund will be issued minus a £35 administration fee.

  • If any part of the service has been used, the right to cancel is waived.
     

Training Walks & Dog Walking

  • You must provide an emergency contact capable of making decisions on your behalf.

  • In an emergency, Sarah’s Dog Training reserves the right to seek veterinary advice and act in the best interests of the dog.

  • Walks may be shortened or adjusted due to weather or safety concerns.

  • While reasonable care is taken, we are not responsible for incidents occurring within your home or caused by your dog.
     

Transport

  • Any person accompanying Sarah’s Dog Training during transport does so at their own risk.

  • No liability is accepted for accidents, injury or delays during transportation.
     

Photography & Media

  • Photos, videos or recordings may be taken during sessions for training, educational or promotional purposes.

  • By attending, you consent to their use across Sarah’s Dog Training platforms, including website and social media.

  • If you would prefer not to be included, please inform us in writing prior to your session.
     

General

  • Late arrival may result in a shortened session without a reduction in fee.

  • Sarah’s Dog Training reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time.
