1-2-1 Dog Training

Personalised Training Built Around You And Your Dog

1-2-1 training is ideal for dog owners wanting tailored support, faster progress, or help with specific training goals in a calm, supportive and personal setting. Whether you’re working on loose lead walking, recall foundations, calm greetings or general manners, we’ll focus on the skills that make everyday life easier.

This is non-behavioural dog training (for everyday training needs). If your dog’s struggles are driven by fear, aggression, anxiety, guarding or complex reactivity, you may be better suited to a behaviour consultation - please book a FREE 15min telephone consultation for more information and guidance on what to book.

Why it matters
Group classes are brilliant, but sometimes you need support that’s more specific to your dog, your lifestyle and your goals. Think of it like personal training at the gym: the plan is tailored, the feedback is immediate, and progress tends to feel much clearer.

1-2-1 training helps because:

Your session is built around your dog’s learning style, motivation and current skill level

We can address your exact sticking points (lead pulling, focus, reliability, distractions, etc.)

You’ll gain hands-on coaching, so you feel confident applying the training in real life

We can train in the environments that matter most - home, local walks, or around day-to-day distractions

One on one support with a trainer can help you grow in confidence and skill in a low-pressure environment

How It Works

All 1-2-1 training starts off with an initial 1.5hr training session, with follow-up sessions lasting 1hr each. These can be booked on a pay as you go basis or as packages.

Where?

1-2-1s are held either in your home or at a public location

If you want to meet at a secure field, you will need to book this

When?

1-2-1s are offered on weekdays (excl Mondays) and some Saturdays

Evenings are not offered

What's Included?

These 1-2-1s are tailored, but common training goals include:

  • Loose lead walking and lead manners

  • Recall foundations

  • Engagement around distractions

  • Calm greetings (people and dogs) and general manners

  • Focus and impulse control

  • Settling, boundaries and calm behaviour in the home

  • Building confidence with day-to-day handling and routine

What 1-2-1 training won't do:

  • Help with behaviour that is driven by anxiety, fear, aggression, etc. A dog can pull simply because they have learned that it works, but dog's can also pull when they are panicked or overwhelmed. This is where a FREE 15min telephone consultation can help determine whether to book a training or behaviour 121.

  • Aim for 'perfect' obedience - my training is realistic and functional to improve quality of life for your dog and you. However, if you are looking for advanced obedience, please clarify this when enquiring.

  • Provide guaranteed results - I can give you the best advice but YOU have to put the work in in-between sessions consistently to see progress. I am in your dog's life for a fraction of it, you are there everyday.

1-2-1s work best for those that:

  • Want tailored guidance rather than generalised class work

  • Have a dog that struggles most in specific environments (home, local walks, busy places)

  • Are working on everyday training goals and want faster progress

  • Would like more confidence as a handler and clear structure to follow

  • Need a supportive ear and a more personal approach
