Scent and Hoopers Combo

Think. Move. Connect.

A fun, low-pressure class designed to build confidence, connection and enjoyment.
These sessions combine scentwork (UK Sniffer Dogs) with hoopers exercises (Canine Hoopers UK), giving you and your dog the chance to learn, move and think together in a supportive environment.

You can choose to take part in both activities or focus on just one, making this class suitable for a wide range of dogs and handlers. There’s no competition and no pressure - just positive experiences, enrichment and teamwork.

Why it matters

Not all training needs to be about fixing problems or achieving perfect obedience. Activity-based classes play a vital role in a dog’s overall wellbeing. Scentwork and hoopers both support:

Mental enrichment and healthy outlets for natural behaviours

Confidence building without social pressure

Calm focus and problem-solving skills

Strengthened communication and trust

Enjoyment and quality time together

Scentwork allows dogs to work independently and succeed at their own pace, while hoopers provides movement and handling skills without the physical impact of traditional agility. Together, they create a balanced class that meets both brain and body needs - without overstimulation.

How It Works

Classes are held in a secure, supportive outdoor environment.

All exercises are adapted to suit individual dogs, with an emphasis on success, enjoyment and calm engagement rather than performance.

What's Included?

In these classes, you and your dog will learn how to:

  • Engage in scentwork activities that encourage natural problem-solving, independence and confidence through nose-led tasks.

  • Navigate hoopers-style exercises that build body awareness, directional handling and teamwork in a low-impact, accessible way.

  • Work calmly around other dogs, focusing on your own activity without pressure to interact.

  • Enjoy training together without expectation or comparison, reinforcing positive associations with learning and shared experiences.

This class also provides:

  • Mental and physical enrichment without over-arousal or competitive pressure.

  • Support for the human side of the partnership, helping you learn how to guide, encourage and support your dog through activities with clarity and positivity.

  • A relaxed, social environment where dogs can participate safely without needing to engage directly with others.

What these classes won't do:

  • Prepare you for competition or trials - these sessions are purely for enjoyment, enrichment and bonding.

  • Replace structured training or behaviour support where needed. Dogs benefit most from a balance of enrichment, training and real-world experience.
