Parallel Walking
Confidence for you, calm for your dog.
Teaching calm, confident walks around other dogs.
Parallel Walking classes are exactly what they sound like - sessions designed to help your dog remain neutral and relaxed around other dogs while on lead, while also building your confidence as a handler. These sessions focus on practical, real-world skills, giving dogs and owners the tools to navigate walks, parks, and social environments calmly and safely.

Why it matters
Many dogs struggle with reactivity, over-arousal, or nervousness around other dogs. Without guidance, walks can become stressful or unsafe for both dog and owner. These classes provide:

Structured, low-pressure exposure to other dogs at a safe distance
A focus on calm, neutral behaviour rather than interaction
Confidence and clarity for the handler, so you feel in control during walks
Tools to manage arousal, tension, and focus in real-world situations

By practising these skills in a supportive environment, both dog and owner can develop reliability, calmness, and enjoyment on walks - laying the foundation for stress-free everyday outings.

How It Works
Each session is carefully structured, allowing dogs to practice calm, parallel walking at a distance that suits their comfort level. Handlers receive hands-on guidance, tips for reading body language, and strategies to maintain control and confidence.
